Bloomsbury Baroque perform songs and dance tunes by the Georgian man of letters and former slave Ignatius Sancho, together with music by Handel and other celebrated musicians of the age. With its comparatively free press, burgeoning public culture and thriving commercial life, many musicians were drawn to settle in London - particularly from French and German backgrounds.
Bloomsbury Baroque: Philippa Hyde - Soprano; William Summers - Baroque Flute, Recorder; Diane Moore - Baroque Violin; Ibrahim Aziz - Bass Viol; Yeo Yat-Soon - Harpsichord. Based in central London, the ensemble performs music by the disparate communities of the Georgian era who found a home in the capital city.
