The Women’s Land Army During WW1 by Helen Frost

on Tuesday, 19th October 2021
Organised by: Halesworth U3A (University of the Third Age)
Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
An illustrated talk presented by Halesworth and District U3A. Hear about the quite incredible contribution made by this oft-forgotten, overlooked 'Army' of women who, during the Great War years were recruited mainly from towns and cities, (more often than not from wealthier backgrounds) to work on the land; often for the first time in large numbers.
The years 1914-1918/19 gave women from ALL classes in all counties and regions of Britain opportunities that were simply unthinkable before the Great War.
Ticket Details: £4 at door / U3A members FREE.
