Book Talk, with author Judi Daykin

Presented by Halesworth Library. Judi’s portfolio career includes work in theatre, film, television and directing. After completing an MA in Creative Writing at the UEA, Judi joined Joffe Books in 2020. Her DS Sara Hirst novels are set in North Norfolk amongst the villages and places she loves and now lives. This book talk is sure to be engaging and one you will not want to miss.

A Series of Art & Literature Lectures at St.Mary's church, Walpole

This evening we present the third of a series of four lectures given by author and art historian John-Paul Stonard, who will draw out the overarching themes of his book 'Creation: Art Since the Beginning' - a Sunday Times Art Book of the Year. This tells the extraordinary story of how people all over the globe, from prehistory to the present day, have created images in order to understand the world they inhabit. A comprehensive and exhilarating introduction to world art. Remaining lecture date is Thursday 1st December, at 7pm. Special fee for all lectures, or just attend individual ones. Refreshments available. Parking in field opposite. Proceeds in aid of the church Restoration Fund.

Presented by Waveney and Blyth Arts. Julia Blackburn is the acclaimed author of some 20 books, on subjects as diverse as Napoleon, her family, Billie Holiday and mermaids. Jules Pretty is Professor of Environment and Society at Exeter University and a widely published author. His new book is Sea Sagas of the North: Travels and Tales at Warming Waters.
