Blythburgh Station : Open Day

– 16:00 on Sunday, 10th September 2023
Organised by: Halesworth to Southwold Narrow Gauge Railway Society
Venue: Blythburgh Station site, off A12 alongside Village Hall
Also, Model Show. Between 1879-1979 Blythburgh had a working train station as part of the Halesworth to Southwold railway. Volunteers have been working hard over the last five years to re-create the area. Come and see what they have achieved, they will be pleased to show you. Free parking. Stalls and light refreshments in the village hall, alongsite the station site. All as part of Halesworth Heritage Open Days.

Artistree Art and Sculpture at The Barn, Laundry Farm, Thorington

– 16:00 on Sunday, 10th September 2023

The second day of this event. At The Barn, Laundry Farm, Thorington, near Southwold, which is located just off the A12 south of Blythburgh (look for signage). Art and sculpture both inside the Barn and outside in a beautiful wooded setting, reflecting an artist's take on trees, nature and the environment. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional work from many very talented local artists. Includes oil and acrylic paintings, printed images, unusual ceramics, metal and wood sculptures. A feast for the visual senses. Also craft stalls, wine by the glass and home-made refreshments. Grand Silent Auction of Promises. St.Peter's church will be open to visitors. Lots of space for car parking. All Welcome. Proceeds to St.Peter's church, Thorington.
