DESCRIPTION:Model yacht sailing has been taking place in Southwold for
over 125 years. Tremendous fun, which is very easy to get the
hang of. All ages and abilities can join in. Anyone is welcome
to come and have a go at sailing – we can even lend you a
boat for the day (please book in advance) and show you what to
do.
Today, morning races from 10:30am, afternoon races from
2pm. Featuring a knockout competition for the Golden Jubilee
Cup (adult sailors, 16 years and over), also The Sole Bay Bell
for large boats (hull length 32-36 inches); The De Lacroix
RoseBowl for homemade boats, and the Cripps Cup (for ‘Beat
and Run’, boats 24 inches and over). SMYR AGM 6:30pm, venue
to be confirmed today. Next Regatta 6th August.
